Decimal Candle Unit Converters

The Decimal Candle is an obsolete unit of luminous intensity first defined in 1889. Its value was set at 1⁄20th of a violle, which was defined as the light emitted by 1 cm² of glowing platinum at the temperature of platinum freezing and was equal to about 20 candlepower. At this value, the decimal candle was equivalent to the British Parliamentary candle. In 1909 the unit was redefined and renamed the international candle.
