What is the Cord unit?
The Cord is a unit of dry volume used in the United States and Canada to measure the volume of firewood and timber.
A cord is the amount of tightly stacked wood that occupies a volume of 128 cubic feet or approximately 3.6 m³.
A “solid cord’ contains 128 cubic feet of wood. However, wood is not sold in terms of solid cords. When wood is stacked, there is a considerable amount of air between pieces of wood, so the actual cord contains about 80 cubic feet of wood.
